As a Product Manager working on the Marketing team, you will be empowered to be r esponsible for the management of a specific product portfolio to achieve the targets and profitability objectives through the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics.


  1. Market Analysis / Feedback

o Commission market research

o Review internal & external market data

o Review relevant journals and articles

o Gather information through regular HCP contact

  1. Contribution to Strategy and Objectives

o Formulate marketing strategies with a market and competitor based rationale in line with global strategies

o Present strategies to Field Force department and senior management team to gain endorsement

o Obtain feedback and review strategy if needed

o Develop promotional plan based on strategy and work cohesively with the FF team to achieve desired results

  1. Development / Implementation of Promotional Plan

o Develop a Plan of Action

o Present at cycle meetings strategy promotional plans and tactics

o Develop or adopt:

  • Field Force aids

  • Promotional literature / videos / materials

  • Ad campaigns / PR

o Assess outcomes of promotional campaigns

o Provide feedback on activities regarding implementation of promotional plans

o Assessment of sponsorship/ CME/meeting requests/special price request, etc.

o Ensure organization of participants and material for meeting displays

o Ensure distribution of samples and materials

o Obtain appropriate QC approval for promotional materials

o Provide FF support

o Effectively plan and conduct pre-POA meetings with SMs

o Effective testing of POA materials and communication tools with SMs with customers

  1. Product Planning

o Develop and recommend marketing positioning, priority and growth forecast of products handled with thorough analysis of economic of health industry, market trends/dynamics, competition, etc.

o Provide input for product forecasted into inventory system

o Participate in and contribute to budget planning or strategic review planning meeting

o Provide and liaise with Logistics and Medical Department regarding packaging needs

o Regularly update and monitor actual performance of product against forecasts

o Provide monthly input regarding performance of products

o Manage product life cycle – new products, line extensions; new indications

o Review and make pricing recommendations

o Effective time management skills in prioritizing important projects and assignments

o Effective teamwork with Marketing staff to realize objectives of the department

  1. Cost / Budget Control

o Allocate and manage expense budget mix to marketing activities

o Monitor A&P budget performance

o Accurate forecast of stocks to avoid stock write off and overstocking

o Review and maintain product profitability & ASP

  1. Product Champion

o Formulating and effectively communicating product launch plans & ensure implementation

o Represent the product in all parts of the business ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of issues related to registration, FF and marketing of the product

o Maintain an updated and detailed product information and literature regarding products, disease states and treatment options of products and the competition

o Provide product advice and information to internal and external customers as required

o Develop comprehensive product training manual for the product

o Develop presentations for training programs covering:

  • Product features and benefits

  • Information on competitor comparison

  • Market review

o Deliver product training to the Field Force as required

o Field visits

o Develop close relationships with key prescribers or key opinion leaders to gain support for our products, to gain their support to be our local speaker, Advisory Board, to facilitate achievement of FF, to understand customer needs, collect market information and to enhance company image.

o Conduct field work with representatives on a monthly basis


  • Undergraduate degree in Science / Medical University

  • 3 years of Field force experience in pharmaceutical industry

  • 1-2 years of marketing experience

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

  • Able to analyse complex scientific data in the context of pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong business partnering, team work and influential skills

  • Agile, Independent and innovative with high level of initiative and innovation is required for new product launch preparations
