We are looking for a Legal Director who will provide pro-active legal leadership, support and advice to the Vietnam team and help achieve the core strategic objectives whilst appropriately managing and mitigating the associated legal risks, by being the primary contact for legal advice for VIETNAM and in particular the General Manager of Vietnam.
The Legal Director will Work very closely with the CR director in supporting the external government engagement and framing of the CR strategy.
This role's top accountabilities include:
Leading the provision of legal advice and support to the VIETNAM team, including input on implications of strategy and providing pro-active solutions to enable delivery of business objectives for the function.
Supporting negotiations including attending relevant meetings and advising on contracts to enable delivery of business objectives for the team.
Providing support in relation to any disputes or legal issues arising with partners, third party distributors or otherwise in relation to the function.
Contributing to External Counsel spend reduction by effectively managing legal budget for the function and rationalizing the use of external counsel.
Leading the provision of appropriate and relevant legal training to the VIETNAM team.
Qualifications and experience required in this role:
12-15+ PQE lawyer, preferably with experience at a leading Asian or Multinational company.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Strong commercial contract drafting experience and negotiation.
Experience of dealing with complex importation and distribution arrangements.
Experience in driving outcomes from external law firms and consultants.
Experience of making presentations to colleagues and business team contacts at a senior level.
Excellent professionalism, commitment and integrity.
Excellent interpersonal skills, easily interacting with others, always creating a good impression and being approachable.
Excellence in provision of legal advice ensuring that complex legal issues are appropriately communicated to the business.
Ability to work within the commercial environment and to identify business critical issues and prioritise workload to align with business needs.
