Regulatory Strategy andFramework:

  • Work collaboratively with regulatory lead of foodingredients ASEAN and dietary supplement lead Asia Pacific to provide inputinto the development of regulatory strategy to ensure the DuPont N&Hbusinesses operating in Vietnam has timely approvals.

  • Develop and implement training and enhancement ofpolicies and standards within the N&H regulatory framework to updateinternal business partners on Vietnam food standards and regulations.

  • Monitor international best practice, including globalbenchmarking of the regulatory environment and regulatory affairsfunctions.

  • Create effective communication channels for theregulatory strategy and framework across the N&H businesses.

  • Monitor and advocate Codex position in Vietnam isconsistent with business needs based on science and global position.

Regulatory InnovationStrategy and Execution:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all innovationactivity in N&H and advise on regulatory options and solutions.

  • Utilise strategic advocacy to influence regulators asproduct and technology innovation requires.

Relationship Management:

  • Proactively engage with internal business partners,external customers, industry bodies, key opinion leaders, policy makersand regulatory and scientific affairs functions globally.

  • Partner with Product Leads and Global RegulatoryCoordinators in each Business Unit to support product innovation andmarket access.

  • Coordinate with Corporate Products Stewardship andRegulatory and related government and legal affairs functions to ensurea consistent corporate message externally.

Regulatory InformationServices:

  • Inform Sales and Business Leads on developments and opportunitiesor threats to monthly cross-functional business meetings.

  • Ensure an overview of trends and developments in foodsupplement is maintained, with briefings provided to Dietary Supplementsbusiness meetings on developing issues and opportunities.

Leadership and Teamwork:

  • Contribute to the building ofcapability of the regional regulatory team to deliver an engaged, highperforming team motivated to protect the N&H credibility.

  • Exercise the diplomacy and maturityrequired to operate in a global matrix organisation.

Qualifications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS /EXPERIENCE

  • MSin life sciences or related field and 8+ years’ experience in foodscience and technology, nutrition, biochemistry, regulatory affairs inthe food industry or PhD with 5+ years relevant experience includingindustry experience. Experience working with diverse cultures is a plus.

  • Makes sound commercial decisionsbased on a thorough understanding of the global business.

  • Understands commercial drivers andis comfortable in planning and managing resourceswithin budget constraints (finding cost effective solutions).

  • Knowledgeof regulatory requirements to gain approval in Vietnam for foodingredients and dietary supplements.

  • Generalknowledge of scientific methods in R&D and Quality.

  • Proventrack record of successful submissions and influence ofregulations/regulators in food ingredients and dietary supplements.

  • Successfullyimpacted product introduction and product compliance by providingregulatory guidance and/or successfully influenced decisions at plantsto implement change.

  • Abilityto deal with ambiguity and communicate recommendations on options tosolve business problems clearly.

  • Honestyin defining gaps and failures, and find solutions to improve and/or findsolutions to achieve business goals. Successfully analysis problems thatrequire an in-depth understanding of the organization is a plus.

  • Demonstratestrong influence on the success of future products and processes, andpresent influence to overall business interest (can be in non-technical/scientificmanner).

  • Consistentproactive and problem solving mindset putting internal and externalcustomer’s priorities at the core. Having track record of being a strongteam player is a must.

  • Excellentskills in influencing and supporting others as a team.

  • Excellentplanning, organizational and communication skills.

  • Abilityto function in multidisciplinary and virtual environment.

  • Flexibilityto accommodate occasional after hours work as global needs require.

  • Excellentcommunication skills in English (verbally, in writing, and inpresentations) and competency in Vietnamese. Working knowledge ofanother Asian language is a plus.

  • Competencyin computer/software tools needed for job.
