Vietnam Regulatory and Stewardship Country Leader (Job Number: 190557W-01)



The Regulatory and Stewardship (RAS) Country Manager position will lead the regulatory strategy and successes of all portfolio operated including both seeds/biotech and crop protection products, with the ultimate goal to achieve all product regulatory approvals and product compliance in the marketplace. The RAS country manager consults the business with the regulatory inputs and implications, acting as the regulatory face of the company to deal with the external stakeholders including the relevant regulators and industry to achieve a favorable and advanced legal and regulatory policy environment.


  1. Regulatory and Stewardship Affairs
  • Understandthe country regulatory and stewardship requirements for crop protectionproducts and import (food, feed and processing) and cultivation of biotechproducts.

  • Developregulatory dossiers in collaboration with the regional and globalregistration teams for the timely registration of crop protection andbiotech products.

  • Executethe registration applications and approvals of crop protection and biotechproducts for import at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,and approvals of biotech products for cultivation at the Ministry ofNatural Resources and Environment.

  • Providethe regulatory information, impact on the business and implications tofacilitate the regulatory and government affairs strategy andimplementation, and the existing or future business in a short or longrun.

  • Planthe regulatory resources and plan in short and long term.

  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach

Develop the country RAS strategy and relevant networks to enable the solutions and favorable environment for product and technology delivery in cooperation with Regulatory Policy team.

Represent the company in key policy, regulatory, industry and academic meetings to advocate company interests and positions.

Support the advancement of corporate initiatives to promote the welfare of our customers and the communities where they live in.

Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in government, academe, community and industry for acceptance of DowDuPont products.

  1. Regulatory Science and Operations

Plan and execute regulatory field trials, local requirement studies to support the registration and commercialization of crop protection and biotech products as may be relevant to business needs.

Work closely with Integrated Field Science team and other relevant functions to ensure that registration trial programs are appropriately resourced.

Lead the development of technical trial reports and ensure requirements by relevant government regulatory agencies are met.

4. Regulatory Compliance and Product Stewardship

Review the commercial labels for regulatory compliance.

Manage and oversee processes to ensure compliance with all government regulations, permit conditions and internal processes and standards throughout the product life cycle.

Take part in the relevant product stewardship program led by the Product Stewardship team.

Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Customer Service team to ensure the regulatory compliance for import and export.

  1. Other Responsibilities

Actively participate in Country Management Team activities to ensure alignment of registration and stewardship goals with Business directions and long-term plans.

Serve as country representative in regional/global registration and stewardship work teams as needed.

Facilitate for few product registrations coordinating with Vietnam & Cambodia business steam member for both Crop protection and biotech products.

  • Bacheloror Master Degree (favorable) in Crop protection, Agriculture, Toxicology,Agronomy, Entomology, Pathology, weed sciences, Biotechnology or any otherplant sciences with relevant experience.

  • Preferablywith 3-5 years of experience in regulatory or related technicaldisciplines and with good understanding of regulatory framework andprocesses for agricultural or biotech products

  • Abilityto interpret regulatory requirements, analyze range of studies and extractrelevant information for drafting of comprehensive dossiers for submission

  • Fastlearning abilities, cross-functional and cross-cultural workingadaptation.

  • Goodorganizational and project management skills and ability to work todeadlines

  • Abilityto periodically travel to physically Ha Noi to reach out stakeholders

  • Excellentcommunication skill (both in Vietnamese and English)

  • Goodscientific and technical report writing skills

  • Computerproficient (word processing, spreadsheets)
