Overview

The Ruminant Sales Manager Vietnam is responsible for developing and implementing a successful sales strategy for the ruminant sector of Vietnam. He/she is responsible for ensuring consolidated sales revenue and margin budgets for the ruminant sector are achieved or exceeded through effective sales efforts.

Working Conditions

The position requires regular domestic travel throughout Vietnam to visit major dairy and beef producers, feed mills, consultants and influencers involved in ruminant production. Travel to Thailand to visit customers may be necessary once or twice per annum.

Travel to Singapore is required to attend sales review meetings, sales training and professional development courses, and company meetings.

Location

Ideally the incumbent will live in, or near Ho Chi Minh City but more important, a willingness to travel to meet key dairy and beef producers and ruminant feed manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Ruminant Sales Lead (RSL), and working with the Technical Service Manager Ruminant (Asia-Pacific), grow, and achieve budgeted sales revenue for ruminant products with key dairy, beef and ruminant feed mill accounts in Vietnam (90% of position responsibility).

  • With the RSL, develop and implement the market and key account sales activity strategy for ruminant products in Vietnam.

  • Manage and coordinate product pricing under direction of the Ruminant Sales Lead and in collaboration with the Country Manager for Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia and Mynamar.

  • Provide technical and product knowledge support to ruminant customers, Kemin’s distributor(s) partner(s) and external consultants.

  • Enter and maintain customer visit records in Kemin’s SMART Notes CRM database for ruminant accounts in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Collect, compile and interpret market intelligence from the Vietnam market relating to key customers, competitors and industry trends.

  • Generate sales projects for ruminant in Vietnam.

  • Deliver technical presentations to customers and at local industry Conferences/Seminars. Represent Kemin’s ruminant business interests at industry trade fairs, shows and events.

  • Assist the Technical Services Manager Ruminant (Asia-Pacific) to set-up and execute commercial farm evaluations to demonstrate ruminant product efficacy.

  • Develop, grow and strengthen Kemin’s relationship with the key ruminant industry decision makers and influencers in Vietnam.

  • Working with Ruminant Sales Lead and Technical Service Manager Ruminant (Asia-Pacific), provide sales support for ruminant products in Thailand (10% of position responsibility).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in animal science, animal nutrition, or agricultural science. Formal qualifications in a ruminant-related field would be a distinct advantage, but are not essential.

  • A minimum of three years technical sales experience in the ruminant sector in preferred but as a minimum, the incumbent will have the same length of experience selling to the livestock sector in Vietnam with a strong record of sales success.

  • Outstanding presentation, selling and negotiating skills.

  • Capability and experience in creating, communicating and tailoring value-added sales propositions to key accounts using sound technical and commercial principles.

  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated track record of success in previous roles.

  • Clear, persistent, patient and proactive communication skills.

  • Self-motivated: able to work in an unsupervised capacity whilst maintaining the strategic business and customer focus.

  • Excellent distributor management and relationship-building skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good written and spoken English.

  • Fluent written and spoken Viet.
